Does Nicotine Pose Harm with Vaping?

There is a common misconception in regards to nicotine. People many assume nicotine is main culprit for causing illnesses and diseases but that is not the case. Nicotine is a toxic oily liquid usually colorless or yellowish and active constituent of tobacco. Although nicotine is additive, what is responsible for causing the cancers and diseases is the tar and toxic gases released from burning tobacco from conventional smoking. 

Cigarette Nicotine vs Vaping Nicotine

What is the difference between nicotine from a cigarette and nicotine from vaping? The main difference is there is no combustion in vaping. This essentially means, vaping nicotine removes all those harmful toxins and chemicals from a smoking a traditional cigarette. 

 


 

Nicotine Affects

Nicotine is an additive substance. Since it is a mild stimulant, very similar to caffeine from coffee beverages.  Nicotine affects the human body by providing a rush of adrenaline, causing a release of glucose. This in-turn may increase the blood pressure, heart rate and respiration. Nicotine does have benefits such as concentration, stress relief and improved focus. 

Is Nicotine Dangerous?

To this day, there hasn't been any scientific research linking nicotine to any serious illnesses or conditions. Nicotine is still very much addicting, so in extreme high amounts of nicotine can be dangerous, such as 500mg+ and that's on the lower end of the spectrum. One negative effect of nicotine that comes to mind is a nauseous feeling or a headache. This can be caused from nicotine poisoning or what vapers call "NIC'ing Out". If this happens to you take a break from vaping, grab some water and hydrate the body. Even stepping outside for air can help provide some relief. Also consider changing the level of nicotine in your eliquid.  

Vaping nicotine allows users to control how much nicotine is entering the body. Traditional eliquid is available in an array of nicotine strengths with the most common in 3mg, 6mg, 12mg and 18mg.
